Pixel Finance

Privacy Policy

Effective 9 July 2026 · Applies to the Pixel Finance iOS app and this website

Pixel Finance is built so your money is nobody’s business but yours. The honest summary: we don’t collect your data, because the app is designed so we never receive it.

The data we collect: none

Pixel Finance does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, and does not use your data for any purpose — there is no data of yours in our possession to use. The app’s App Store privacy label accordingly states “Data Not Collected.” We collect no identifiers, no usage analytics, no diagnostics tied to you, no location, no contacts, and no financial information.

Your data stays on your device

Your accounts, transactions, balances, budgets and receipt photos are stored in on-device storage on your iPhone, protected by your device’s encryption. We do not operate a server that holds your financial data, and the app never uploads it to us.

No account, no sign-up

There is no login and no profile. You never give us an email address, a password, a name, or any other personal identifier to use Pixel Finance.

No tracking, no ads, no analytics

The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no third-party trackers. We do not collect usage data, crash fingerprints tied to you, or behavioural profiles. This website is equally quiet: it serves static pages, sets no cookies, and loads nothing from third parties.

What the app fetches from the internet

To show live numbers and logos, the app contacts a small number of public, keyless third-party services directly from your device. We do not run these services and we never see these requests — but we want to be precise about what each one receives, because some of it is derived from your data:

These connections carry no name, email, account number, or login — we attach no personal identifier and receive nothing back about you, and each service is contacted under its own privacy policy. But as the list above makes clear, a request can still reveal financially meaningful information (which currencies, tickers, coins, wallet addresses, banks or merchants you have) together with your device’s IP address. Reference data and common logos are bundled or cached on-device, so these requests are infrequent, and the app is fully functional offline with your own data — live prices, wallet balances and un-bundled logos simply won’t refresh until you reconnect.

Retention and deletion

Because everything lives on your device, retention is under your control. Delete a transaction, receipt, or account in the app and it is removed from your device (receipt images are also cleaned up). Delete the app and all of its data is deleted with it. There is no server-side copy to request deletion of — deletion is immediate and complete on your device.

The Pixel Finance vault: your cloud, encrypted end-to-end

If you enable sync, the app writes your data into a Pixel Finance vault — a folder of files that are end-to-end encrypted on your device with a key derived from your passphrase before they are ever written to the cloud. The vault lives in a cloud folder you choose and control (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, your own server…). Neither we nor your cloud provider can read the vault's contents. We never see your folder, your files, or your key, and we cannot recover them for you — that is the point.

What Apple provides

If you purchase Pixel Finance Pro, the transaction is processed by Apple through your App Store account under Apple’s privacy policy. Apple provides us aggregate, anonymised sales figures — never your identity or payment details.

Your rights and consent

Because your data lives only on your device, you exercise your rights directly and immediately: access and export your data at any time (Settings → Export transactions), correct it by editing in the app, and erase it by deleting records or the app itself. Permissions you grant (such as camera access for receipt scanning) can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings, and the app keeps working without them. Under GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and similar laws, requests to access, correct, or delete personal data are satisfied by the above — we hold nothing to hand over, correct, or erase on your behalf.

Children

Pixel Finance is not directed at children, and its rating reflects a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone — including children — because the app collects no personal data at all.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s behaviour ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and note the change in the app’s release notes before it takes effect.
